March 2020! We’re already through winter and heading into Spring time…the results we see in the summer are forged NOW. Nobody embodies this better than Tammy. She’s been with us for over two years and has shown consistency is the key to success. After experiencing a foot injury earlier this year, she has persevered and comes to workouts even MORE often now.
Showing ‘Where there is a will, there’s a way’! Of course many at the box enjoy her sarcastic banter at the 5am class, and it wouldn’t be the same without her. 😝
Tell everyone your backstory!
I’m originally from Brownsville TN and came to Nashville because I was young with no responsibilities! When I moved here, Opryland was still around. I liked Nashville more then because it wasn’t as overpopulated as it is now, but I’m not against the changes. My parents have been married for over 48 years! One sibling – an older brother that’s been married for 20+ years. No pets or biological nieces or nephews. Since I moved to Nashville, I was eventually able to go back and graduate with a college degree!

You are very disciplined why do you CrossFit so regularly?
I actually enjoy working out – and do CrossFit so regularly to stay in better health and shape. For me, this is a lifestyle. I still have a lot of work to do, but consistency is key. When I broke my toe, I thought this would be the perfect excuse to stop going to the gym, but then I realized if I can just push through one weeks workout with this toe, I would use it as a starting point to get back on track and stay on track! Lead by example is what I like to do (except the cheekiness). And what better way to show people how to persevere than with a boot on!!
How do you compare the CrossFit workouts with the type of workouts you did in the past?
CrossFit Solid Orange (not just any CrossFit gym) is a lot more effective than my past workouts because it allows room for progression without judgment in an encouraging environment. I can learn new movements and how to improve them while working at a suitable pace!

If a Workout was created in your honor, what difficult movement would have to be in it?
Definitely pull-ups and running all in the same workout until I can improve 🤗.
Share a goal for 2020 that you have!
Goal is to lose 60 lbs of fat this year (at least 30 pounds by July for my Paris trip). I’d like to get my first pull-up this year…when I get my 1st pull-up, I’ll tell my family 1st, then rub it in the face of a few people at my job.
Tell us something people don’t know about you?
I have 2 degrees. Associates in Business Admin & Bachelor in Business Mgmt. I am DareDevilish (Yes, I made up this word). I love trying things that are risky/exhilarating like white water rafting.
